Benefits Advisor - Forth Valley

We have an exciting opportunity for a Benefits Advisor to join our team at our Forth Valley centre to provide comprehensive advice and help people access available benefits and other sources of financial help.

Your responsibilities

• You will advise and help people get access to available benefits and other sources of financial help – assist in the completion of benefits claims, maximising an individual’s income.
• You will provide comprehensive advice on benefits using a variety of different mechanisms.
• You will have a strong understanding of relevant legislation and its application, you will have good analytical skills, the ability to understand and summarise complex issues and to develop working relationships for the benefit of income maximisation.
• You will have the ability to work on your own initiative to effectively manage a busy caseload, working when necessary in partnership with other agencies when handling complex cases.
• The role can be emotionally intense at times and you should be emotionally sensitive whilst also resilient in order to manage these demands.
