Less stress at Maggie's

It goes without saying that having cancer can be stressful, but there are lots of things we can share with you to help make those feelings more manageable.

As well as one-to-one or group support we have a six-week Managing Stress course that encourages you to try out different ways of relaxation.

Managing stress – six-week course

Our six-week course introduces you to different ways to manage stressful thoughts and how to use these methods in everyday life.

Each week, we'll introduce different ways to cope, including:

  • controlling anxious thoughts
  • meditation
  • visualisation
  • ‘quick’ or emergency relaxation

We'll give you some guides and a relaxation CD to take away so you can practice your stress management techniques at home and use what you've learnt at times of pressure and anxiety.

How to book

To get more information about the Managing Stress course, discuss whether it’s right for you, or to find out future course dates, please get in touch with your local Maggie's.

Relaxation sessions

Our group relaxation sessions are a chance to try relaxation, see how it works for you and learn different techniques.

Each session is run by a Cancer Support Specialist in an informal space in a Maggie's centre and also gives you the chance to meet others with similar experiences.

Check your nearest centres's timetable to find out times. You don't need to book, just come in.
